Simply Soft Yarn scraps in two colors

Hook size 4.5 mm (7)

Optional – hook of a smaller size for weaving end in.

Optional – third color of yarn (for slip stitching another row on the front side)

Level: Easy

Ch = chain

Sc = single crochet

Hdc = half-double crochet

Dc = double crochet

Ss = slip stitch

To make the Inside Heart:

In Color #1 make a Magic Loop or 3 ch connected with a ss.

Row 1: Make 7sc into the Magic Loop. Ss into the 1st sc.

Row 2: 2ch, 5dc into the base of 2ch, 1dc into next sc, 1hdc into next sc, [1hdc, 2dc, 1hdc] into the next sc, 1 hdc into next sc, 1dc into next sc, 5 dc into the next sc. Ss into the center (not into the Magic Loop, but almost into it). Finish off. Puck ends to the backside of the heart.

To make the Outside Heart:

Row 3: In Color #2 make 2sc  in the the 1st space (1st space is formed by the first 2 chains of Row 2), 2sc into next 3 stitches, 1sc into next 5 stitches, 3sc into next stitch, 1sc into next 4 stitches, 2sc into 4 stitches (sometimes there is one more stitch left, if so, make 2sc into it). Ss into the middle (space between the two half-circles of the heart). Make ss into the 1st stitch of this row. Finish off.

Take all ends to the backside of the heart.

Weave in ends. This is what the heard looks like from front and back.

Make many hearts. String up hearts and beads on a cord made of chains, and/or add another color by slip stitching a row on the front side of the heart.
